Obituary for Lillie Mae Taylor
Lillie Mae Wade Taylor, departed this life suddenly on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Johnston Willis Hospital. She was born in Amelia, VA on December 3, 1944 to the late Willie James and Dora Wade.

Lillie Mae graduated from Russell Grove High School in 1963. She joined Promise Land Baptist Church at an early age. She remained a faithful member until her health failed. She served on several ministries of the church. They were the Usher Ministry, Women’s Ministry and the Cemetery Committee.

Lillie Mae retired from the Amelia Dress Factory, now called the Star Children’s Dress Company after 20 years. After retiring from the dress factory she did part-time “Home Cleaning”. She enjoyed watching her Westerns, and Texas Walker Ranger. She also enjoyed her game shows which were “Family Feud” and “America Says”. On Tuesday nights it was Tyler Perry’s -”The Have and the Have Nots and “If Loving You is Wrong”. She was known by her family for her Banana Pudding and during the Christmas holiday her special touch of her Cherries in the Snow.

Lillie Mae was joined in holy matrimony to Edward Taylor on May 6, 1967 and they were married for 52 years. Every year Lillie Mae and her dear one Edward would travel and take trips with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis V. Wade and Deacon Leroy Wade; three sisters, Luecelia Richardson, Lorris Archer and Lillian Wade.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Edward Taylor; her children, Samantha Jackson (Kenneth) and Charles Taylor (Delores); grandchildren, Charles Taylor, Jr. and Alexse Jackson; one brother, Little Thomas Wade (Florence) overseer of her cousin Claude Pegram; sisters-in-law, Blanche Wade, Elizabeth Ross, Elizabeth Taylor and Gladys Booker; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her dedicated friends and family: Shirley Trent, Ora Woodley, Mocile Taylor, Margaret Evans, Antoinette Archer and Jacqueline Perry.

Funeral Services Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00pm at Promise Land Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment church cemetery.
