Obituary for Charles Beverly
CHARLES LEE BEVERLY was born on April 1, 1934 to the union of Gold Bud Beverly and Adelle Parham.
He was educated in the Nottoway County public school system where he participated in multiple sports. Charles was a faithful member of the Mount Calvary Baptist church where he served in multiple capacities for seventy years. He was a member of the deacon’s board and served as chairman for several years.
Charles proudly served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He returned home and completed Barber School at Virginia State University.
He worked at Fort Lee Army Base for over forty years. In addition, he also owned and operated a barbershop on the weekends. He eventually moved to Crewe, VA. Charles served on the Nottoway County Planning Committee for several years.
Charles was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 30, 2019 after a long illness. Preceding him in death was his parents; his brother, Michael Price, and son, Dexter Alexander Beverly (1983). He is survived by his beautiful and faithful wife, Carolyn Jefferson Beverly; sons, Charles Garland Beverly and Dr. Clinton S. Beverly (Dr. Veronica W. Beverly); five grandchildren, Cherrell Beverly, Ryan Matthew Beverly, Bailee Beverly, Sydney Beverly and Nicholas Beverly; three brothers, James Montgomery, Carl Price and Calvin Price; three sisters-in-law, Laura Nunnally (Calvin), Inez Jeter (Milton) and Hermania Lewis; three brothers-in-law, Clarence Jefferson (Judy), William Jefferson (Dorothy) and Herman Jefferson.

Funeral Services Friday, July 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
