Obituary for Karl R. Green
Karl Randolph Green was called home on March 11, 2019 after a long fight with cancer. Karl Sr. was born on February 16, 1954 in Blackstone, Virginia to the late Hampton and Gracie Green. He was the eleventh child of fifteen children.
Karl’s greatest love in life were fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
Karl was educated in the Nottoway County public schools. He loved everyone he met like family. Karl Sr. was loved by all. He met the love of his life, Deborah Rhodes in Blackstone, Virginia in 1981, she stayed by his side until the very end.
Karl Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Hampton and Gracie Green; his daughter, Joy Green; two grandchildren, Daymon Rhodes and Ca’Lani Tracy; ten brothers and sisters whom he loved dearly
Karl Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Karl Green Jr. (Shalonda) and Darnell Rhodes (Lauri); two daughters, Dentra Rhodes and Reneka Winfield; twelve grandchildren, Alexis, Amariyai, Taliya, Aymon, Domanick, Tyrell, Ahmya, Promise, Haiden, Alexandrea, V.J. and Morgan; four sisters and one brother; Cordelia, Annie, Thelma, Joyce and Henry (Rose); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment private
