Obituary for Ernest L. Thompson
Late in the afternoon on March 2, 2019, God dispatched his angel and called Ernest home. He was born in Amelia, Virginia on August 24, 1961 to Lois A. Mondrey and the late Walter E. Thompson.
Ernest accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. He served as an usher until his health failed. Ernest attended Amelia County public schools and was employed with Stamie E. Lyttle as an operator until his health failed.
Ernest was preceded in death by a brother, Walter J. Thompson and a sister, Melessia Wilkerson. He leaves to cherish special memories: his loving, spiritual and devoted wife, Gloria Thompson; his children, Brandon Thompson of Hopewell, VA, Kaydee Thompson-Anderson (Don) of Henrico, VA and Tomesha Thompson-Olmedo (Jaime) of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Ka’Nyrha, Jayceon and Orianna; his mother, Lois A. Mondrey (William); devoted sister, Juanita Perkinson (Bernard); god-daughter, Tomekia Lewis; god-sister, Dorothy Jones; two sisters-in-law, Valerie P. Foster (Steve) and Velma Thompson; three brothers-in-law, LeRoy Bailey (Toni), Keith Tyler (Carrie) and Alvin Wilkerson (Marcia); uncles, Ernest Pegran, Benjamin Thompkins (Hattie), Joe Pegram (Luberta) and devoted John Thompkins (Jocelyn) all of Amelia, VA; aunts, Ethell Thompkins of Richmond, VA, Christine Pegram Starks of Orange, FL; friends, Alvin “Chub” Woodley, Ricky Lewis and Edward “Bo” Coleman; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment Little Bethel Baptist Church, Amelia.
