Obituary for Whelon E. Love, Sr.
Deacon Whelon Edward Love, Sr. passed away on February 22, 2019 at Amelia Nursing facility after battling a lengthy illness. Whelon was born on May 8, 1930 to William and Dorothy C. Love. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother.

He was the owner and operator of Love’s Towing and Storage for many years until his health started declining drastically.

Whelon was a member of the M.W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Virginia, Petersburg Consistory #144 where he was a Sublime Prince with a 32nd degree; a member of Evergreen Benjamin Lodge #131; and a past member of Crewe Kiawians.

Whelon was a faithful and dedicated member of First Nottoway Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Usher, member of the Senior Choir and Men’s Chorus until his health started failing.

Deacon Love was a special part of our family and community. His memory will live on forever in our hearts. He was blessed with so many friends, what an incredible man he was!

He leaves to cherish his amazing memories: a loving, caring and devoted wife, Marie, who was also his caregiver for many years; son, Whelon Jr. (Butch) and wife Shirley; step daughters, Pamela Clarke (Heath) and Michele Davis (Bernard); a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.

THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING

Funeral Services Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment church cemetery.
