Obituary for Jerome A Fitzgerald Sr.
Jerome Alan Fitzgerald, Sr. “Pete” was born August 4, 1959 in Nottoway County to Katherine D. and Bazell Fitzgerald, Sr. He departed this life peacefully at his home in Crewe, VA on October 23, 2024.
He attended Nottoway County Public Schools. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Royal J. Nickens.
He attended upholstery trade school in Fisherville, VA. Upholstery was his career and passion. He also loved fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father Bazell Fitzgerald, Sr. and brother Bazell Fitzgerald, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Gloria Lawson Fitzgerald of Blackstone, VA; one son Jerome Fitzgerald, Jr. of Farmville, VA; four daughters Gina Allen (Brian) of McKenney, VA, Melinda (Milton) Dodson of Kenbridge, VA, Tawandra Foster and Tera Henderson of Blackstone, VA; two step-children Damien Lawson and Destiny; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his mother Katherine D. Fitzgerald; one brother Lewis Rodney (Arlene) Edmonds of Blackstone, VA; two sisters Teresa F. Johnson of Blackstone, VA and Patricia (Ronald) Oliver of Crewe, VA; one uncle Eddie Edmonds of Rawlings, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Several devoted friends Herman Fitzgerald, James Jennings and Paul Epes.
