Obituary for Corrine Elder Patterson
On Thursday, May 31, the death angels came to Hsritage Hall Nursing Home and forever hushed the sweet voice of Corrine Elder Patterson. She received her wings to fly beyond the sky to a place where there is no sickness and forever peace and joy.
Corinne Elder Patterson, daughter of the late Theodore and Martha (Gladys) Elder, was born on September 11, 1939 in Blackstone, VA.
She was educated in the Nottoway County public Schools.
Corrine became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Blackstone at a young age. She attended Jerusalem until her health made it difficult ot attend services as regular as she wanted to.
Corrine was employed with Mitchell’s Restaurant until she became sick. She also was employed by Blackstone Restaurant, both of Blackstone, VA.
Corrine enjoyed working her seek-n-find books, listening to music (Roy C), sitting on the porch and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Crawley Patterson, Sr.; sister Clara Bussie; brothers Charles, Archie, Johnny and Roosevelt Elder; son-in-law Theo Greene.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Tammy P. Greene of Blackstone; four sons, Kennedy Patterson (Monica) of Baltimore, MD, Crawley Jr., Francis and Jeffery Patterson both of Blackstone, VA; granddaughters, Tankia G. Jones (Wallace) of Chesterfield, VA, Tiara Dagner of Blackstone, VA; grandsons, Kaiser, Omarien, Crawley III, Damion Patterson, TyShawn Jackson, Cornelius Felder; great grandchildren, Mi’Asia Johnson, Cherish Jones, Kamoree Knight and Cayden Felder; her loving siblings, Elnora Crowder of Baltimore, MD, Morine Patterson, Gertrude and Shirley Elder (dear to her heart) of Blackstone, Danny Elder (Renee) of Richmond, VA; brothers-in-law, Allen Patterson (Allan) of Blackstone, VA, Leon Bussie of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Lillie Elder of Long Island, NY; her loving godchildren, Sharmmetric Robinson (Derrick) of Richmond, VA, Alaine Booker (Derrick), Jacque Elder and Alcharver Hayes of Blackstone, VA; one beloved nephew Demetric Elder of West Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment church cemetery.
