Obituary for Alice T. Christopher
Alice Todd Christopher, daughter of the late Alice and Joseph Todd, departed this life peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, April 29, 2018. She was born on June 10, 1942 in Nottoway County.

Alice, affectionately known as “Sis”, confessed Christ at an early age. She was baptized and joined the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended until her health declined. She sang with the Senior Choir and served as Assistant Clerk for many years. Alice loved praising the Lord, and did so wherever she went. Not only did she regularly attend and support her home church, she also enjoyed visiting many churches in the surrounding counties. She loved giving testimonials about how good God was to her!

On March 12, 1960, Alice was joined in holy matrimony to Joseph Christopher, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with three children.

Alice worked at Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation in Farmville for many years. Once the company went out of business, she enrolled in CNA classes. She successfully completed the course and received her Certified Nursing Aid license. She then became employed with Piedmont Senior Resources where she remained until she retired.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Craft; son-in-law, Ronnie Craft, Sr.; and three brothers, Joseph, James and Franklin Todd. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Gerald Christopher of Richmond; her daughter, Rochelle Evans of Burkeville; five grandchildren, Daraisia Christopher, Sabrina Plummer, Gerald Christopher Jr., Ronnie Craft Jr. and Victoria Christopher; three great grandchildren, Gerald Christopher III, Alaina Christopher and Kalea’ Craft; one devoted sister, Shirley Todd of Salem, NJ; a loving aunt, Louise Gilliam of Burkeville; two brothers-in-law, Benjamin and Earl Christopher; four sisters-in-law, Florence Thompson, Helen Crockett, Mary Elaine Gerald and Christine Todd; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Jetersville. Interment church cemetery.

Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of arrangements.
