Obituary for Mary Ann Rowe
Mary Ann Foster was born on June 21, 1950. She was the youngest of six children born to the late Lottie J. Foster and Henry Foster Sr. of Crewe Va.  Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Mary received her education at Luther H. Foster High School. At an early age she joined Union Baptist Church where she served on the choir and hospitality committee.

On July 6, 1974 she married James E. Rowe of Crewe Va. She worked in many capacities, from her love of taking care of children, to her love of cooking and catering food. Mary worked for Holly Manor, Fort Pickett, Brandymill Nursing Home and retired from Nottoway County Public Schools as Assistant Manager in the cafeteria for over 20 years. She shared a special bond with “her girls” Rose, Edith, Natalie, Doreen, Audrenette, Gloria, Gladys, Holly, Carol, Matty, Hatty, and Tina.

There are countless memories of Mary, too many to name but she loved taking care of her family and friends and made sure that if anyone needed anything and it was in her power they would have it.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband James Rowe Sr. her three daughters Paula Anderson (Haywood), Lora Bassfield (Warren), Tashema Johnson (Harold), and one son James Rowe Jr. eight grandchildren Lance (Latoya), Loren (Jamel), Martisha, Destiny, Lakaia, Aaliyah, Haron, and Laila three great grandchildren Jasmine, Mariah, and Lance II, two sisters Thelma F. Gallion, Bertha Bland, two special sisters in law Doris Foster and Esther Roame, five additional sisters in law Sheila Rowe, Ella Rowe, Evelyn Rowe, Annie Rowe, and brothers in law Lee Jennings, Eleazar Rowe Jr.,  Matthew Rowe, and George Rowe. Mary left this worldly life to start her new life with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday April 18th, at her home in Burkeville Va. surrounded by her family.  She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend that was loved by all that knew her and will be truly missed.
