Obituary for Sylvia 'Sivi' Archer
On Wednesday morning, March 21, 2018 God in his infinite wisdom and love called our loved one, Sylvia R. Archer, to her eternal home of joy and peace. Sylvia was born on September 30, 1950 to James W. Archer Sr. and Victoria Robinson Archer.

Sylvia accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church. Sivi, as she was so affectionately called attended Russell Grove Schools in Amelia.

Sylvia battled with lung cancer, but overcame. She was employed by Amelia County Elementary School, Powhatan Elementary School, the State Police. She was also employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Richmond for twenty-five years until her health failed and she had to retire.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, James W. Archer, Sr. and a brother Franklin Joseph Archer

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving mother, Victoria R. Archer; one daughter, Pastor Tara Owens (Deacon Tony) of Amelia, VA; loving brother, Deacon James Archer Jr. (Mary Ann); sister Joan Owens (Deacon Eyser Ike); devoted grandchildren, David Owens Jr. (Amber), Shamika, Dustin (Tiffany); four great grandchildren; two uncles, Franklin Archer and Joseph Archer; four aunts, Dorothy Robinson, Shirley B. White, Beatrice Alston and Vernell Royal (Deacon Elwood Royal Sr.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment church cemetery.
