Obituary for Eugene "Teddy Bear" Thomas
Eugene Randolph Thomas (Teddy Bear), son of Rebecca Scott and John Thomas was born January 5, 1931. He departed this life on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Heritage Hall Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Blackstone, VA.

Eugene attended Nottoway County public school from which he graduated. At an early age he became a member of Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church in Blackstone, VA.

Eugene served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He worked at various places of employment and was well known throughout the community.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Martha Lee and his two brothers George (Mickey) Thomas and Randolph (Bubba) Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted significant other Emma L. Jones of Blackstone, VA; nieces Alice Cradle of Blackstone, VA and Willie Mae Wright of Richmond, VA; his stepchildren, Emma Jean and Gertrude Jones, Atrinell Abbott and Richelle Owen, all of Blackstone, VA and Larry Jones of Amelia, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
