Obituary for John W. Dance
John Dance departed his life on November 9, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

John Dance was educated through Brunswick County Schools. Also in the course of his career he was a long time employee of the Imperial Charcoal Plant in Kenbridge, VA until the business closed. In his later years before becoming ill, he worked for Georgia Pacific near his home in North Carolina.

Recently, he attended Reaching the World for Christ Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina where he played the bass guitar for the men and women chorus. He was a faithful member even through his illness. Also, John and his devoted wife were active members of Pentecost Church of God in Christ before moving to North Carolina.

Preceded in death: his loving and faithful wife: Elizabeth L. Dance, father: David Dance Sr., mother: Sallie Dance, and brother: David Dance Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted daughter: Delores Holmes (Danyale) of Goldsboro, NC and son Tyrone Dance (Terrica) of Spartanburg, SC
Seven beloved grandchildren: Marquice Dance (Tyeshra) , Sherrod Harvin (At’ana), Maurice Stokes, Aundreas Stokes, Amareion Stokes, Ashley Free, and Patrick Free; four great grandchild: Ky'mire Dance, Jah Free, Sion Harvin, and Ah’maz Dance.
Two sisters: Marie Jones of Lawrenceville, VA, Shirley Rawlings (Mack) of Goldsboro, NC one brother: James Dance of Petersburg, VA and one aunt: Alice Thomas of Bridgeport Connecticut. John also leaves a host brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Pentecost Church of God in Christ, Blackstone. Interment Thomas Family Cemetery, Rawlings, VA.
