Obituary for Jerue W. Foster
Jerue Wright Foster, daughter of the late Jessie & Alma Wright was born in Woodruff, South Carolina on July 23, 1935. She departed her life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at her home in Blackstone, Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Theodore, Sr., and her son, Theodore Jr.
Jerue graduated from Woodruff High School. At an early age she accepted Christ and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, New York.
Jerue met the love of her life (Teddy) in Baltimore, Maryland where they were united in holy matrimony and from this union they had one son, Theodore, Jr.
Jerue worked as a register nurse many years in Yonkers, New York. After relocating from New York, Jerue joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Raleigh Bagley, former Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was appointed to the Deacon Board March, 2004, she also served as the Sunday School Treasurer.
Jerue was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a bedrock to many family members and friends. She is survived by her grandson, Eric (Kisha); daughter-in-law Sheila; four granddaughters, Ericka; Johanna, Shaleah and Jernay; four great-grands Portia, Kyshanah, Shadon and Reba; three great-great grands, Michael Jr., Payton and James Jr.; god-son Anthony; and a host of other relatives and friends.
