John A. Maddox, Jr., son of the late Emily and John Maddox, Sr. was born on September 21, 1954 in Farmville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Harris.
John was a loving and caring friend to all he met and was a never a stranger to anyone.
John graduated from Nottoway High School in Nottoway County, Virginia.
John was like the “Handy-Man” of Crewe, doing many odds and ends jobs.
John leaves his love and memories to: his sister, Violet Maddox Davis of Washington, DC; one daughter, Melissa Jennings; one grandson, Thamane Jennings; a niece, Bernadine Lawrence (Stuart) of New York; nephew, Roi Harris of New York; great nephews, Damon Maddox of Virginia and Demitrus Hallback of New York; cousins, Vernell Kirby (Roy) best friend and caretaker from 2006 to 2021 of Crewe, Virginia, Graham Bland (Sue) of Richmond, Virginia, Manna Bland of Amelia, Virginia, Marie Bland Wingo (Perry) of Jetersville, Virginia and many other cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment private.
