Obituary for Charles E. Jefferson, Jr.
Charles Edward Jefferson, Jr. was called home to glory while surrounded by family and close friends on October 11, 2020, at MCV/VCU Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1970, in Richmond, VA to Charles Edward Jefferson, Sr. and Minnie Pearl Jefferson. He has two sisters, Angela J. Marrow (Henry Marrow, Sr.) and Anita Jefferson (Erie Lawrence), both of Richmond, VA.

Junie began his formal education at Abbottston Elementary in Baltimore, MD. He returned to Richmond, VA where he attended Armstrong High School. Junie was baptized and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Burkeville, VA. He became employed and worked in restaurants and food services.

On April 24, 1990, Junie (Sheila Cole) became the proud parents of Charles Edward Jefferson, III (Keyona Carter), and later became grandparents to Zamir Carter on March 7, 2014.

On May 21, 1991, Junie suffered a tragic accident which resulted in him being paralyzed until the day God called him home.

Junie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Jefferson, Sr. and nephew, Jabez Jefferson. He leaves to mourn: his mother, Minnie Pearl Jefferson; his son, “CJ” Charles E. Jefferson, III; grandson, Zamir Carter; his two sisters, Angela Marrow and Anita Jefferson; six nieces and nephews, Henry Jr., Jermal Jr., Jhyrie, Tiona, Malexus and Arie; four great nieces and nephews, Amor, Aloni, Janiyah and Jay’eon; devoted aunts, “Mincy” Geraldine McCord and Sara Jefferson; uncles, Thomas (Alberta), William (Kathy), Harry, James (Sharon) Jefferson, Kenneth (Tina) and Otis Jones; devoted cousins, “Mema” Samuel Eppes, “Tiny” Cassandra Jones, “Chee Chee” Merrill Hunt; close friends, Anthony Cudjoe, Terry Hill, Eric Marrow, Tawana Rhettt, Brian Bartee of Baltimore, MD; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Viewing Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 12 to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Services Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 1pm at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 2311 Ford Ave., Richmond, VA
