Obituary for Floyd E. Pritchett, Jr.
Floyd E. Pritchett, Jr. (Junie) departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2017.  Junie was born on March 13, 1953 in Richmond, Virginia to Leola Pritchett and the late Floyd Pritchett, Sr. He attended public schools in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Maggie Walker in 1972.  At an early age, he was baptized at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Blackstone, Virginia. He was united in marriage on June of 1979 to Millicent McGregor, from this union, two children were born.

Junie served Becton Dickinson in New Jersey from November 11, 1975 for many years until he retired due to health issues in 2008.  His job was his passion and he shared his love for his job with his family and friends.  When he wasn't at BD, Junie loved working security for concerts and other events in New York and New Jersey.  Some of his favorites included The Jackson’s Victory Tour and Grateful Dead.  He shared his passion for music with everyone.  He always had a gift for people he encountered, a trinket,  DVD or CD to show his love or share his passion.  He encouraged others to follow their passion and pursue music.  He wrote songs for friends and family and owned a production company while in New Jersey.  When he returned to Richmond in 2008 he became a member of Grayland Baptist Church and participated in the Golden Age Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his father: Floyd Pritchett, Sr.  Left to cherish his memories are his mother: Leola Pritchett; devoted daughter: Richetta N. Johnson (Lamont) and son: Jermaine Pritchett.  Devoted brothers: Michael Pritchett, Kennard Pritchett, Wayne Pritchett and Henry Smith; god child: Chanel Freeman; loving nieces: Che’Vonne Crawley, Jasmin Pritchett and D’Andra Barnes and nephew Michael Green. Aunts: Lillie Cragg and Lois Moore; Uncles: Leroy Pritchett, James Pritchett, Curtis Pritchett, James Green and Waymond Mitchell, Sr. Floyd had two devoted sisters in law, Bonita and Spring Pritchett and devoted friends: Daryl Miller, Garfield Hammond, Michael Randolph and Laverne Johnson.

Junie was loved by everyone who knew him.  He loved almost anything Motown and was a Michael Jackson fanatic.  He was instrumental with helping his in-laws Listol, Angela, Rosemarie, Pamela and Michelle when they came to live in America. He also spent a lot of time with in laws, Lisa and Jacqueline when they were young children. He always had a kind personality. Once he moved to Richmond, he took on the role as a childcare provider to Madison.  He shared his love of learning and music with her.  His early presence will be sorely missed, but we thank God for sharing Junie with us.  His memory will always linger in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
