Obituary for Mildred J. Street
Mildred J. Street, daughter of the late Deacon Royal T. and Myrtle B. Jones, was born February 12, 1933 in Monroe, Virginia. Just before dawn on November 23, 2016 she silently slept in the arms of Jesus at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia.
She attended school in Amherst County. Mildred graduated from Piedmont school of nursing where she was employed for twenty-two years. She later transferred to the Medical College of Virginia where she worked until she retired. She continued to work various jobs at Trinity Mission of Farmville, Amelia Nursing Center, Amelia, Care-med and Home Aide until her illness..
In 1959 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Alex Street, Sr., to this union one son, Alex Jr. was born.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Rucker and three brothers, Lee Jones, Gilbert Jones and Royal T. Jones, Jr.
Mildred J. Street leaves to carry her love, faith, endurance and strength to her loving son, Alex Street, Jr. and her loveable granddaughters, Quonesa C. Williams and Kayla Monique Street; two sisters-in-law, Delila Jones and Pearl Miller; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, past students and a host of friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, Monroe, VA. Interment private
