Obituary for Solomon "Billy" Banks, Sr.
Solomon “Billy” Banks was called to eternal rest on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Born on October 17, 1939, he was the oldest child of the late Annie Banks Jackson and was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Banks Givens.

He was raised and baptized in the Brick Church Community; attended Amelia County public school. He retired from Richfood Distribution Center after 38 years of service.

He was a member of the Red Lodge Hunting Club; a lover of outdoor sports and a dedicated Washington Redskins fan.

His life will forever be cherished by his dedicated and devoted wife of 59 years, Margaret Banks. They were blessed with five children; Charles (Tina); George (Jehosheba); Loretta; Martha (David); Solomon Jr. (Susan); along with extended family, Polly and Denise. He has nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Broadnax and Anniebelle Booker; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; two devoted neighbors, Sherry Banks and Thomas Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral Services Monday, November 7, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, 15001 Patrick Henry Highway, Amelia, VA 23002. Interment Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
