Lavern B. Batson entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia. She was born August 12, 1924 in Manhattan, NY to Clara and Charles David Parker.
Lavern graduated high school in New York and worked as a Dietary Aid in the Linden Hospital.
She married Albert McCoy, who preceded her in death. Vern later married Robert Batson, who also preceded her in death.
Lavern was preceded in death by two children, Byron and Lenora McCoy; a brother, Charles Parker, Jr.; two sisters, Lillian Marshall and Geraldine Meadows. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Rena (James) Drew and Delores McCoy; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Joyce) Parker; two sisters, Lillian Marshall and Geraldine Meadows; one daughter-in-law, Rena Drew; one sister-in-law, Georganna Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Jackson Cemetery, Crewe.
