Obituary for Lucille L. Fuller
On Monday, May 19, 2008, after a long illness, Lucille Love Fuller answered the call of her Lord and Savior and went home to be with him. Lucille, daughter of the late Hannah Love was born on March 26, 1939 in Crewe, VA.
Lucille attended Watson Elementary School. She made a profession of faith, was baptized and joined Eleven Oaks Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir until her health began to fail.
She was employed at the Burkeville Veneer Plant until its closing and then Howard’s Restaurant in Crewe until health issues lead to her retirement.
A soft-spoken, tender hearted woman who demonstrated unconditional love and sensitivity to people’s needs, our mom, when in good health, had an open door to many who would come to find a listening ear and non judgmental love from her. Many called her “Mom Lucille”. To know her was to love her.
On May 19, 1956, Lucille was united in holy matrimony to George Edwin Fuller, Sr., who preceded her in death. During their forty-two year union ten children were born.
One son (George E. Fuller, Jr.) and one brother (Walter Love) predeceased her. Left to celebrate her life and cherish the memories are: three sons, Albert (Marie) Fuller, Lawrence Fuller and William (Tina) Fuller; six daughters, Joyce (Victor) Jennings, Yvonne (Reggie) Williams, Debra Fuller, Mary Banks, Pamela Jacobs and Tracy (Russell) Vanromondth; one sister, Bertha Bland; two brothers, William (Lilly Mae) and Lawrence (Goldie) Love; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; one special friend and godmother to her children, Pauline Bradshaw.
Funeral Services Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 12:00 noon from Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Jackson Cemetery, Crewe.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of the arrangements.
