Obituary for Howard Chester Carr, Jr.
Howard Chester Carr, Jr. departed this life August 12, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia. Howard was born to Zelma Goodhope Carr and the late Howard C. Carr, Sr. on December 28, 1951 in Prince Edward County. He joined Union Baptist Church in Crewe, Virginia at an early age.
Howard was employed as a Special Education Instructor for the D.C. Public Schools for eighteen years. He was a current member of The Bible Way Temple in Washington, DC, where he served in the Senior Choir. He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia State University, Masters degree at Howard University and received his Educational Specialist certification from Georgetown University.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard C. Carr, Sr. and brother, Richardio A. Carr, Sr.
To cherish his memories are: a devoted and loving mother, Zelma Goodhope Carr of Crewe, Virginia; sister-in-law, Joyce M. Walker (Ardell) of Victoria, Virginia; niece, LaTonya Carr Ingram of Victoria, Virginia; nephews, Richardio A. Carr, Jr. (Ellena) of Calero, Alabama, and Anthony D. Carr of Victoria, Virginia; aunts, Thelma Goodhope of Newport News, Virginia, Marie Goodhope of Norfolk, Virginia, Maxcine Walker of New York, Marion Marshall of Cumberland, Virginia; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, Crewe, VA with interment in the Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA.
