Obituary for Annie Mae Crawley
On September 9, 2008, God sent his Angels to Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA to take MRS. ANNIE MAE CRAWLEY home. She was born February 23, 1924 to Duglay and Kate Morgan Jackson in Burkeville, VA.
She received her education in the Nottoway Public School System. Annie Mae was baptized and joined First Nottoway Baptist Church at an early age.
She was employed at Piedmont Hospital for a short while. It was at Piedmont that she met John Ernest Crawley, after they married she became a homemaker. Of that union they had eight children.
Annie Mae was a very loving and caring person, she was loved by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, her husband, a son Walter Lee and a granddaughter Joye.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Elizabeth, Albert Sr. and wife Mary, Herbert Sr. and wife Joan, Dorothy, Pearl, Gwendolyn and Eric; grandchildren, Desiree, Durand, Demetria, Herbert Jr., Albert Jr., Desmond, Anthony, and Ronald; great grandchildren, Shante, ReShaun, Da’Quan, Adashya, Donea, Ronald, Monay and Jamarion; one great-great grandchild, DaShawn; one great great-great grandchild Javion; devoted nieces Jackie Poole and Rose Johnson; sisters-in-law Lillie Allen, Minnie Bryant and Louise Holloway of North Carolina; her best friend, Bessie White; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 2:30 p.m at First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe, Virginia with interment in the church cemetery.
