Obituary for Delores "Lois" Puryear
DELORES ANN (BOOTH) PURYEAR “Lois” entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2009 in Nottoway County, VA. She was born May 31, 1950 to William and Mildred Booth.
She joined Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church at an early age and attended until her health failed. Lois attended school in Lunenburg County and was raised in Blackstone, VA.
Lois was a mother, a grandmother, a mother-in-law, a sister, an aunt, a cousin and a friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Rudolph Booth and James Puryear, Sr. of Blackstone, VA; a very devoted friend, Marvin Simmons of Crewe, VA; two foster children, Winston and Latoya Hanks; seven grandchildren, Angela Booth, Eunice Booth, James Puryear, Jr., Jameson Puryear, MyKala Booth, Treavon Vaughn and Twanda Patterson; two great grandchildren, Tanzania Glasgow and Zonique Jones; three daughters-in-law, Valerie Booth, Rita Ingram and Mary Knight; four sisters, Alice Knose and Barbara Hardy (Lawrence) of Blackstone, VA, Thelma Johnson of Tampa, FL and Christine May (Micheal) of Blackstone, VA; two brothers, Wilbert Booth (Agnes) and Tyrone Booth (Connie), both of Blackstone, VA; one uncle, Uncle Peele of Blackstone, VA; a special niece, Sharon H. Jones of Tampa, FL; a close and inspirational friend, Ms. Estelle Epps of Blackstone, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
