JAMES WALLACE TAYLOR (Gator), the only child of Tina Maddox was born on February 1, 1955 and departed this life on April 13, 2010 at his home in Blackstone, VA.
Wallace accepted Christ in his life at an early age at the Little Mount Baptist Church. He was educated in the Brunswick County School system. He was employed as a logger until his health began to fail him.
Wallace is preceded in death by his mother, Tina L. Maddox; his grandmother, Frances R. Taylor; a brother, George Taylor II; and a god-father, David Craig.
Wallace leaves to cherish his memory: extended sisters and brothers, Patricia (Charles) Howard of Ft. Washington, MD, Frances Williams, Greta (Calvin) Booth, both of Blackstone, VA, John (Suzette) Creekmore of Virginia Beach, VA, Deborah (Maurice) Carter of Palmyra, VA, Anthony (Mary) Taylor of Georgia, Michael (Linda) Taylor of South Hill, VA, Yvonne Taylor of Richmond, VA, Sandra Taylor of Petersburg, VA, Juanita Thompson of Farmville, VA, and Ellis (Hazel) Graves of Petersburg, VA; three aunts, Sallie Ella Creekmore of the home, Haneefa Shabazz of Philadelphia, PA and Fanny Taylor of Dundas, VA; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone with interment in the Taylor Family Cemetery, Blackstone.
