Obituary for Elizabeth R. Pegram
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up a crown for me, a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.” II Timothy 4:7-8

Peacefully Thursday morning, August 19, 2010 at St. Frances Hospital, Elizabeth R. Pegram was guided by the beckoning light to Almighty God from a world of pain and suffering to her eternal haven of peace and everlasting joy.
At an early age in her life, she confessed Christ as her lord and Savior, was baptized and became a member of Allen Memorial Presbyterian Church in Jetersville, VA and later joined Zion Hill Presbyterian Church.
Elizabeth was the child to the late Theodore and Daisy Shepperson Pitchford.
During her walk in life, she met and was united in holy matrimony to Woodrow Pegram. From this union, they were blessed with seven children: Woodrow “Louis”, Howard and Woodrow Pegram who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are Ruth Royal, Daisy Wade, Ethel and Capitola Pegram, William “wirt”, Calvin, Arthur, and Lawrence Pitchford, and four grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her legacy of love and devotion are; two daughters, Henrietta Pegram of New Jersey and Lois T. Mondrey (William) of Amelia, VA; three sons, Ernest (Ruby); Joe (Luberta); of Amelia, VA; and Melvin (Christine) of New Jersey; two sisters, Gwendolyn Pitchford, and Gladys Taylor of Philadelphia, PA and one brother, Phillip Pitchford of Philadelphia, PA; one sister-in-law, Amanda Pitchford of Amelia, VA; one daughter-in-law Beatrice Pegram of Richmond, VA; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She also leaves a devoted friend, Madline Harris and a devoted niece Leverta Patrick.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Presbyterian Church, Amelia with interment in the Neil Memorial Cemetery, Jetersville.
