Obituary for James EL Williams
Brother James “Chubby” Williams EL was born April 30, 1930 in Amelia, VA.
After serving a tour of duty in the military he united in the Moorish Science Temple of America and married the late Morrell Williams EL in 1955. He worked in the logging business for many years, then on a cattle farm until he retired.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Williams and Lewis Williams EL; and one sister, Clara Cousins of Baltimore.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: one daughter, Marcella “Ann” Bey (William); one son, James “Jimmy Lee” Griffin (Diane) of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Theodore EL he called “Man”, Zenobia Bey he called “Z”, James Griffin Jr., Jarrett Griffin; one great granddaughter, Nikki of Richmond; two great-great grandchildren, Makiyah and Kendrick; one sister, Elaine (George) of Richmond; one brother, Saunder “Sputnik” of Crewe, VA; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Finnie and Marie W. EL; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to list.
Memorial Services Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia with private burial.
