Obituary for Josephine H. Woodson
JOSEPHINE HUFF WOODSON entered eternal rest on January 12, 2012 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blackstone, VA. She was born on September 15, 1932 in Nottoway County to the late Joe Sr. and Luvenia Huff.
Josephine joined Cellar Creek Baptist Church at an early age and attended Nottoway County public schools. In 1957 she married the late Coleman Woodson Sr. Born to this union were four children, Mary Hawkes (deceased), Colman Jr., Andrew, and Yvonne (deceased).
Josephine was fondly called “Aunt Pa” by family and friends. She dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was known as a lovingly care giver aiding her other family members, and anyone in the community who needed assistance.
She will forever be loved and missed by her sons, Coleman Woodson Jr. (Rosa), Blackstone, VA and Andrew Woodson (Joyce), Temple Hill, MD; two brothers Amos Huff (Sheila) and Joe Huff Jr. of Blackstone, VA; Three sisters Virgie Yates; Clara Evans (Melvin) and Ethel Wright all of Blackstone, VA; two sisters-in-law Mary Woodson and Christine Christian; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blackstone for their many years of dedicated services.
Funeral Services Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Cellar Creek Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
