Obituary for Yvette D. Worsham
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace, called his beautiful angel, Yvette Diane Worsham home to rest from her labor. God completed her plan, and her journey had ended.
Yvette, affectionately known to family and friends as “Diane,” was born on December 31, 1951, to the late Herbert and Emma Vaughan of Dinwiddie, Virginia. The third of seven siblings, she attended Dinwiddie Schools. On January 1, 1972, she was joined in holy matrimony to Robert M. Worsham, Jr. To this union, four beautiful daughters were born.
Diane accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bloomfield Baptist Church, she occasionally attended Manassa Hill Baptist Church .
Diane worked in the food service with the Amelia County Public School system for several years. She also worked at Central State Hospital . She later furthered her education at Southside Skilled Center Crewe, VA to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, to begin a career to share her compassion of caring for others. While as a CNA, she worked with CareMed for many years.
Diane enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, decorating her home, talking on the phone, watching soap operas, shopping at Dollar General and being the neighborhood watch on Thompkins Lane. She looked forward attending the weekly senior activities with Piedmont Senior Resources.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband , Robert M. Worsham Jr.; parents Herbert and Emma Vaughan; brothers, Herbert and Leroy Vaughan; father-in-law Robert M. Worsham, Sr.; sister-in-law Mary O. Worsham.
Diane leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her devoted and loving four daughters, Monique Worsham, Kim Powell (John), Latoya Jefferson (Clifton), Robin Worsham, all of Amelia; five granddaughters, Takia Williams, Jayda Jefferson, Britnee Powell, Jordyn Jefferson, and Kamren Gilliam; her mother in law, Louise T. Worsham; three sisters, Pearline Vaughan, Jeanette Vaughan, Regina Rose (Marvin); brother, Carl Vaughan (Carol); sisters-in-law, Laura Worsham and Nancy White; brothers-in-law, Andrew Worsham (Brenda) and Anthony Worsham (Pinnie); A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends & family: David Williams, Michael & Rachel Smith, Erica Cosby, Flonia Johnson, Nicole Worsham, Ronnie Johnson, Henrietta Jones, Shakia Dorsey, Rosa Robinson, Shirley Jefferson, Gloria Jean Wilson and Wilma Charles.
Viewing Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12 to 7PM at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, 15001 Patrick Henry Highway, Amelia.
Funeral Services Friday, February 24, 2023 at 1:00PM at Manassa Hill Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment Branches Runn Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
