Obituary for Willie M. Jones
Willie McKinley Jones departed this life on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 8:05 pm. He was born August 6, 1945 in Burkeville, Virginia to the late Kenneth Jones, Sr. and Sallie Mae Fowlkes Jones.

Willie was the seventh of nine children. He was reared and educated in Nottoway County. As a young boy he attended Sunday School and Morning Worship at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Burkeville, VA where he was baptized.

At the age of twenty, he moved to Baltimore, MD and lived with his sister, Mrs. Nannie Branch. He was united in holy matrimony on March 28, 1970, to his high school sweetheart, Miss Bessie Peace, of Blackstone, VA. From this union two children were born, Trudy and Steven.

In November, 1974 he moved to Brooklyn, NY where he obtained employment at The Continental Corrugated Container Corporation which later moved to New Jersey. Willie decided to move with his job and subsequently relocated his family to Plainfield, NJ in 1979.

He prayed and worshipped God in his own way. On occasions he would attend The Refuge Church of Christ with his family in Plainfield, NJ.

Willie was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret, Nannie and Bernice; his brothers, Edward and Roger. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Ms. Bessie Jones; his daughter Trudy Jones Brodie of Richmond, VA; his son Steven Jones of Plainfield, NJ; three grandsons, Sharard Jones of Philadelphia, PA, Kashawn Parrott-Jones of Columbia, SC and Tyrell Jones of Plainfield, NJ; one granddaughter Deanna Wilkerson-Jones of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Kenneth and Otis Jones of Burkeville, VA; one sister, Minnie Jefferson of Richmond, VA; two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Macedonia Baptist Church, Burkeville. Interment family cemetery.
