WILLIE ELMORE WOODS was called to his heavenly home on August 31, 2008.
Willie was born in Roxboro, North Carolina on July 18, 1930 to the late Samuel Woods and Lillian Lester.
Willie attended the Roxboro Public School System in Roxboro, North Carolina.
During Willie’s tenure, he held various jobs; he started his career as a Farmer in Brunswick County and continued his tenure in Baltimore, Maryland.
Willie was a very kind and loving friend to all who knew him.
Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife Mable Blackwell Woods; two sons, James Elmore Woods and Ricky Michael Woods.
Willie leaves to cherish his loving memories: two daughters, Dorothy W. Bagley and Barbara Crawley of Blackstone, Virginia; one son, Walter E. Woods of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Hugh E. Woods (Brenda); two sons-in-law, Richard E. Bagley and George T. Crawley of Blackstone, Virginia; sister-in-law, Nancy Fox of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A devoted and loving friend, Mable Watkins of Blackstone, Virginia.
Funeral Services Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
