Obituary for Willie Carr Hanks
Willie Carr Hanks was born on April 12, 1909 to the late Thomas and Lizzie Carr.  She departed this life for a new beginning on September 12, 2007 at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Farmville, VA.  Willie was married to the late Russell L. Hands.  She was educated in Nottoway County School System and joined Eleven Oaks Baptist Church at an early age.She served faithfully as an usher, president of the Pastor's Aide and Mother of the Church.  She was an active member of the senior choir, Sunday School, Nottoway Sunday School Union, Nottoway Extension Club and Gospel Echoneers.Willie was a beautiful woman both inside and out, a wonderful loving mother, and a caring and giving friend.  In her straight forward and direct manner, she passed her love and kindness to everyone she came in contact with.Willie leaves to cherish her memory:  her loving children, Gwen Fisher (Clifford), Oacar Hanks (Sylvia), Carlh Hanks and Ann Hanks  Robinson; one nephew, Willie Fred Redd; twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.Funeral Services  Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Carr Family Cemetery.W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
