Obituary for William Sonny Clements, Sr.
WILLIAM SONNY CLEMENTS, SR, son of the late Ben and Emily Johnson Clements was born in Amelia County, Virginia on February 16, 1933. He departed this life at his residence on February 14, 2012.He received his education at Brick Church School in Amelia County. William was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.William was employed as an asphalt worker for Blakemore Construction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five sisters, Sarah, Mary, Helen, Rosa and Myrtle; six brothers, Lyn, Floyd, Clarence, Frank, Paul and Willie; and two grandson, Daniel Clement Patrick and Richard Patrick, Jr..William leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Gladys Clements; one daughter, Larraine Doris Patrick (Richard); one son, William Clements, Jr. (Shauna); grandchildren, Richard L. Patrick III, William Clements III and Le’Trell Whitehurst; five sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell (Hardin) of Amelia, VA, Christine White (Harry) of Richmond, VA, Queen Reed (Robert), Katherine Chestnut of Richmond, VA and Matilda Clements of Richmond, VA; three brothers, Alaska of Washington, DC, Charlie Clements of Alexandria, VA and Junius Tyler of New York; three brothers-in-law, William Squire, Matthew Ruffin (Gloria) and Andrew Ruffin (Evelyn); five sisters-in-law, Alease Murry (Ben), Patricia Ruffin, Fannie May Cary, Ercelle Ruffin and Catherine Ruffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral Services Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.Michael W.
