Obituary for William 'Peter' Thompson
William E. “Peter” Thompson Jr., born in Amelia, Virginia on February 10, 1955 to the late William E. (Phil) Sr. and Mary L. Thompson, changed his address to heaven on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Peter was preceded in death by his father, William E. (Phil) Thompson Sr.; mother, Mary L. Thompson; brothers, Staff Sgt. Kevin Thompson Sr., Elvis Thompson; sisters, Mary Deloris Thompson, Carolyn Wynn and Edith Hawkes.
After living most of his life in Richmond, VA, Peter relocated to Concord, NC and eventually settled in Charlotte, NC.
Peter was survived by his wife Aretha Thompson of Concord, NC. He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Travirus Leo Thompson (Makya) of Newport News, VA and Gerrod Marquice Thompson (significant other Daja Newell) of Petersburg, VA; sisters, Phyllis Pettaway (William) of Chesterfield, VA, Sharon Thompson (James Jefferson) of Blackstone, VA; one brother, Larry “Man” Thompson Sr. of Amelia, VA; one brother-in-law, Ernest Hawkes of Blackstone, VA; grandchildren, Justin, Dinero, Camreon, Madicyn, Leilani, Law’ryn, and Giselle; a host nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and a special close cousin who was like a brother Alvin “Red” Thompson.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 4 @ 2 p.m. from the cemetery of the Mount Level Baptist Church 901 Wills Road Amelia, VA.
INTERMENT WILL BE PRIVATE FOR THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY.
