Obituary for William H. Stanley
WILLIAM HENRY STANLEY was born to the late Rev. Hugo and Virginia Jones Stanley of Conway, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 6, 2020, at his home in Blackstone, Virginia.
William was employed at PSE & G Services Company in Newark, New Jersey. After moving to Virginia, he worked as a caregiver for a number of years. He truly enjoyed caring for others.
William was a devoted and faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He sang on the choir.
Preceded in death by his father, Rev. Hugo Stanley; mother Virginia Jones Stanley; daughter, Wanda Edmond; Grandchild, Geannine Edmond; sister, Gracie Stanley Davis (Clarence); brother, Joseph Stanley (Barbara) and son-in-law, Lee Curtis.
William “Stan” leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, Mildred Bland Stanley; children Henry Atkinson (Patsie), Antoinette “Toni” Nash (Thomas); grandchildren, Asia Edmond, Kenya Atkinson, Bruce Edmond, Devaugh Edmond, Kevin Terrell, Alexis Terrell; great grandchil-dren, Jaylan Atkinson, Brooklyn Edmond, Darion Edmond, Aria Edmond., Kenzo Edmond; sisters, Evelyn Stanley Hurst (Chris), Elizabeth Stanley Askew (John), Ella Stanley Sellers; brothers, Donnie Stanley, Hugo Stanley, Jr.; sister-in-laws, Shirley Bland Jasey (Lloyd) and Barbara Bland Rumph (Isaiah); special cousins, Fred Stanley, Henry McNeil and Larry Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
