Obituary for William 'Billy' Dakin
William 'Billy" Dakin of Amelia, born in Mahopac, NY on April 1, 1932, passed peacefully Friday, June 20, 2018 at the age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Gloria Gallagher Dakin of Amelia and his daughter, Deborah Eckhard of Hyde Park, NY.
Billy was a loyal and dedicated employee and friend of the Mendal family for 58 years from 1948 in Patterson, NY to 2006 in Amelia.
He was a beloved and dedicated father. He is survived by five children, Gayle Howard of Patterson, NY, Dawn and Carrie Dakin, both of Amelia, William Dakin Jr. of Kenly, NC and Stephen Dakin of Texas; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and his first wife, Joan Mooers of Pulaski, NY.
Memorial Services were held Friday, June 26, 2014 at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home in Amelia.
