Obituary for Wanda D. Spratley
On Saturday, June 28, 2014, early in the morning while the dew was still on the roses, Wanda Delores Banks Spratley (Skeeter) transitioned from earth to her heavenly home.Â
"Skeeter" as she was affectionately called, was the second child born on June 27, 1965 to Harold and Flora (Irene) Jones Banks in Amelia County, Virginia. At a very tender age she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized and joined the Liberty Baptist Church. She graduated from Amelia County High School in 1983. Â
"Skeeter" was employed by HCA for many years at their Chippenham-JW Campus until declining health. She loved softball, cooking, dancing with her cane, and having fun with her family and friends.Â
Her son Damien Banks preceded her in death.Â
"Skeeter" leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories to: devoted daughter, Tanisha; parents, Harold and Flora (Irene) Banks; two sisters, Shirdine (Michael) Harris and Queneva (Mark) Johnson; two nephews, Tyrell Banks and Deion Harris; three uncles, Robert (Frances) Banks, Marvin Banks and Archer Jones, Jr.; three aunts, Mary Jones, Gloria Williams and Clara Squire; six great aunts, Mary Drumgole, Martha Jones, Susie Jones, Helen Goode, Pearl Booker and Louise Banks; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends, among them three devoted, Donna Harris, Gretta Wells and Nadine Nelson; and her pet companion "Poohdie".
The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 1st from 7 to 8pm.
