Obituary for Walter 'Mickey' Jasper, Sr.
Walter “Mickey” Fred Jasper, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born in Amelia, VA on March 16, 1933 to the late McKinley and Senia Jasper.
Mickey was educated at Brick Church School. He accepted the Lord as his Savior at Liberty Baptist Church.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was employed for years at Richmond Foundry. He had a great sense of humor and loved sitting under the tree “entertaining” everyone who stopped by.
He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Mondrey and they would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary on May 6th.
He was predeceased by three brothers, McKinley, Roosevelt and Lawrence, but leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife Mary; three sons Walter, Jr. (Evelyn) of Manhattan, KS, Wayne of Topeka, KS and Steve of Amelia, VA; two daughters Joyce (Clifton) of Alexandria, VA and Connie (Mike) of Amelia, VA; fifteen grandchildren, Deirdre, Clifton Jr., Danielle, Cassonja, Brittany, Wayne Jr., Shori, Tia, Tre’von, Terrance, Michael, Johanna, Arynn, Justin and Zacary; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers William (Gail) of Powhatan, VA and George (Robin) of New Jersey; two sisters, Nannie (Herman) of Maryland and Emma of Pennsylvania; nine sisters-in-law; nine brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; two “adopted” grandchildren, Benji and Ashley Tyler; two devoted friends, Willie Nash and Russell Bell.
