Obituary for Walter L. Simmons
Walter Lynn Simmons, son of Walter and Rachael Simmons was born on July 28, 1968 in Newark, NJ. He departed this life on Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Who was Walter?
He would always inform you of the ingredients in the foods and inform you of what you should be eating and why. He always had knowledge about any topic you could ask about. He loved socializing and reaching out to people. He always loved people around him. Walter loved reading black history books, watching educational movies, eating healthy and exercising.
Walter always kept in contact with family and friends, either in person or on the telephone. He loved to shop and was a very stylish dresser. To him holidays was just another day. He loved his children, family and himself. He would always think that whatever he said or did was right, because it was his choice. He loved to travel and explore different states.
In his short-lived life, he faced many hardships caused by the people he kept close to his heart, and as a result he carried a heavy load in his heart. Walter was often misunderstood for his actions, but will be very much missed as he was very much love. At the end he held his own and stood strong as any man could.
Walter is survived by one son, Kaneil Simmons; two daughters, Aishah and Ineiya; his parents, Rachael Simmons and Walter Simmons; one brother, Aaron Williams; two sisters, April Williams and Antonya Simmons; sister-in-law, Francesca Gibbs; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services Friday, February 19, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, Amelia with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
