Obituary for Walter J. Robinson
Walter Jerome Robinson, the youngest of seven children, was born on March 18, 1959 to Deacon Roosevelt and Dorothy Robinson in Valhalla, NY. On July 2, 2015 Walter went home to be with our Heavenly Father due to long-term health issues.
Walter received his education at Vailsburg High in Vailsburg, NJ. He worked a variety of jobs, form the police headquarters in Richmond, VA to bus driver at Greyhound, Inc.
Walter was a kind, gentle giant. He went out of his way to help anybody that he could. He was the favorite uncle to the majority of his nieces and nephews. One of his favorite hobbies was to go fishing. Even on his worst days, he made sure to throw that line into some water. He was a die-hard NY Giants fan.
Walter, affectionately known as “Big Walt” was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Roosevelt Robinson and his beloved sisters, Estelle and Connie. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Dorothy L. Robinson; sisters, Remy Corbett (Michael) and Cinderella Robinson; brothers, Roosevelt Robinson Jr. (KeeKee) and Richard Robinson, Sr. (Dorothy Mae); children, Mia, Louis and Charles & Aquil; seven grandkids; nine nieces and nephews; a multitude of great nieces and nephews; one special great niece, A’daysha Corbett; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
