Obituary for Vernon Lee Mahan
Vernon Lee Mahan  departed this life on January 16, 2015. Son of Margaret Mahan and the late Paul Mahan, he was born on January 26, 1946 in Crewe, VA. He was the eldest son of seven children.
Vernon was educated at Watson Elementary School until 1959 when he moved to Maywood, IL and finished his education at Priviso East High School. He was employed in many different occupations. Working on automobiles was his hobby.
Vernon met Carol G. Ware and they were married in July of 1972. In that union two children were born. He was very friendly and willing to help anyone in need. Vernon loved to eat and nothing got in his way of that.
Vernon leaves to cherish his memory:Â his loving wife, Carol G. Mahan; two sons, Vernon and Lorac; his mother, Margaret Mahan; six grandchildren, Ahlyshiah, DeShante, Nataki, Elijah, Isaiah and Lorac Jr.; three brothers, Lester (Priscilla), James (Janice) and Roosevelt (Laryne); one sister, Virginia Bryant; other acquired sisters-in-law, Deborah Arnold, Regina Marshall, Karen Jones and Sharon Marshall; one brother-in-law, Darrell Marshall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Blackstone. Interment private
