Obituary for Vernita B. Booker
Mrs. Vernita Bernadine Bell Booker went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 8:37 p.m. at her residence in Richmond, VA. She was born on October 13, 1948 to Randall Creed Bell and Georgia Lee Terry Bell in Welch, WV.
Vernita was educated in the Gary District School System in West Virginia. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Yonkers, NY.
Vernita loved her family, she loved singing in her church choir, reading, playing cards, and getting hugs from her daughter. She worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in Tuckahoe, NY, and in the home heath field.
Vernita was predeceased by her parents, Randall and Georgia Bell Creed; three siblings, George, Randall and Marco Bell. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Charles Lee Booker; daughter, Charlzetta (Ernest) Santos of Chesterfield, VA; son, Credenza (Diane) Booker of Yonkers, NY; three sisters, Phelicia (Bill) Curtis of Petersburg, VA, Mitzi (Roc) Bell Soto of Richmond, VA, Diatricia (Chester) Willis of Huntersville, NC; one brother, Gaston (Pamela) Bell of Texas; four sisters-in-law, Edith Bell of Yonkers, NY, Janet Bell of Richmond, VA, Edith Craft and Rosalean Booker of Burkeville, VA; three brothers-in-law, James Booker, Freddie (Charlene) Booker and Willie Booker, all of Burkeville, VA; six grandchildren, DeQuan (Corina) Santos of Richmond, VA, DeShawn (Alana) Santos of Colonial Heights, VA, Kamala (Wayne) Brown-Bather, Savannah Anderson, Shareef Booker, Johnae Anderson; four great grandchildren, Ayden Brown, Aria Santos, Adam Bather, Dahlia Santos; and a host of nieces. Nephews and friends.
Funeral Service Saturday, July27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment Craft Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
