Obituary for Vanessa G. Street
Vanessa Gayle Street, affectionately known as “Nessa” entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her daughter Tina’s house surrounded by her family. Daughter of Thaddus Berkely and the late Thelma Berkley of Crewe, she was born February 7, 1961. Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Street, Sr., and her brother, Thaddus Lee Jennings.
Vanessa was educated at Central High School in Lunenburg County and attended Southside Community College to further her education. Vanessa dedicated fifteen years of service to Piedmont Geriatric Hospital before she became ill. At an early age, she was baptized at Forest Baptist Church. She truly knew and accepted the Lod Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Vanessa leaves behind to cherish her memory: four children, Tina, Theodore, Sharonda and Clifford, Jr.; fifteen grandchildren; one loving nephw that was like a son (Denzell); four sisters, Catherine, Sharon (Demond) and Carolyn of Meherrin, VA and LaShawn Berkley-Anderson (Gerald) of Chesterfield, VA; one brother, Fred of Burkeville, VA. Vanessa also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a god-daughter that was like a daughter, Breonni Jackson; caretakers, Stella and Quincy Harrison, Destiny Monaa, Sharonda Barkley, and loving and devoted friends. She was very close to Jalesha, DeQuan and Tyrell Berkley who always spent time at her house until she told them all to go home and take Booney with them.
Funeral Services Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment private.
