Obituary for Tyrone Derrick Key
Staff Sargent (SSGT) Tyrone Derrick Key was the son of Willie F. Key and Delores Key. He was born on March 10, 1960. Tyrone graduated from Parkway High School in 1978. SSGT Tyrone Key served in the US Army active duty for 7 years and received an honorable discharge. In addition SSGT Tyrone Key went on to serve for 13 years in the US Army Reserves before retiring.

Tyrone continue to service for over 30 years in law enforcement and completed his last tour of duty at G4S Secure Solutions. Tyrone took his job to service and protect seriously, always wanted justice and wore his uniform with pride.

Tyrone was a passionate man and you knew it when his eyes would get wide. Since the age of 10 years old Tyrone would spend several years on the CB Radio, always saying “10-4 good buddy”. He loved a home cooked meal, his car and friends, but most of all he loved his family. Tyrone always wanted to be the big brother protector for his sisters.

Tyrone expressed his love for the Lord though his compassion and caring for others. He loved attending New Life Outreach International Church. Tyrone shared many of his conversations with Pastor Martin and served on the Usher Board. He often mentioned sitting next to sister Toni Harper and wearing his shirt “I Love My Church.

Tyrone is survived by two sisters, Michele Key and Stacey Key-Davis, one brother who preceded him in death, William Key; three nephews, Kevin Davis, Kareem Key, Kylid Key, Niece, Kijona De Fratis, and sister in-law, Audrey Key and a host of other relatives and friends.

The only Viewing for Tyrone will be Friday from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at New Life Outreach International Church at 1005 Turner Rd., Richmond, VA 23225 where service will follow at 11:30 a.m.
Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
