Obituary for Tyrice L. Haskins
A TIME TO BE BORN
Tyrice Laundra Haskins was born on Monday, February 26, 1973 at Southside Community Hospital, Farmville Virginia to the union of Floria T. Haskins Hicks and Henry Haskins, Jr.
A TIME TO LIVE
Tyrice, affectionally called Ty by his family and Reese by his boys, was educated in the Amelia and Nottoway County Public School Systems. He had a competitive nature and loved video games as a youngster and sports, especially basketball. In his adult life he lived in Richmond Virginia, working many jobs, but it was there that his passion for cooking was born. This love provided job opportunities at Marriott International, and lastly before his health failed, Virginia Commonwealth University. Even in his most adverse and trying times, Ty was brave. His zest for life, and infectious laugh always outweighed any odds he faced. His love for his children and grandchildren surpassed all others, never forgetting birthdays and holidays.
Those who welcomed him on the other side include his father, Henry Haskins Jr., his loving grandparents, Joseph and Florence Tucker and his very first best friend, cousin Shawn E. Palmer.
In addition to his devoted mother, Floria and husband Earl, Tyrice leaves to cherish his memories, Children, Tyandre Harris, Brandon Haskins, Cameron Haskins, Sha’Dymon Blanton and Ty’Vondre Haskins; Grand Children, Tymiere Harris and Layla Creel; Grandmother, Florine Haskins; Aunts, Geraldine (Willie) Peace, Nancy (Joseph) Saunders; Phillistene Jefferson, Joann Pettis, Laurette Tucker, Lisa Haskins; Uncle, Michael (Donna) Haskins; Great Aunts, Etta Neal and Mary Banks; and Great Uncle James Booker. In addition, he is survived by a host of devoted cousins. He was blessed to have wonderful friendships that began at childhood and will never end.
A TIME TO DIE
Tyrice fought a brave fight, but the battle wasn’t his, it was the Lord’s. He entered eternal life with his Mom by his side on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Johnston Willis Hospital.
Graveside Services Wednesday, July 15, 2050 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Jetersville, VA.
Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia in charge of arrangements.
