Obituary for Thomas Jefferson Bragg
Thomas Jefferson Bragg “Top Cat” was born November 28, 1947, to the late William Penn Bragg Sr. and Nancy Brooks Bragg. He departed this life on September 13, 2020, at his home in Blackstone, Virginia.
At an early age he was baptized and joined the North View Baptist Church.
He attended the Mecklenburg County Schools and graduated in the class of 1967 from East End High School in South Hill, Virginia.
He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served 2 years in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1974.
He worked many years in the health field taking care of the elderly. Later, he worked with the Town of Blackstone. In his retirement, he wrote a book and spent time with his family and friends that he loved dearly.
To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mario Bragg and grandson, Jadakyss Bragg.
He leaves to cherish his memory: five daughters, Senethia, Brittany, Shaneka Bragg of Richmond, VA; Crystal Bragg of Blackstone, VA and Tarry Ford of NC; two sons, Thomas D. Bragg of Blackstone, VA and Derrick Bragg of South Hill, VA; seventeen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, William Bragg of Blackstone, VA; two sisters, Grace Jones (aka Bunch) of Brodnax, VA and Rosa Abdul-Malik of Houston, TX; Henry Smith (Butch) who loved him as a father; three sisters-in-law, Queen Williams, Flossie Watkins and Martha Watkins, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was loved by many but will be missed by us all.
