Obituary for Thomas J. Jefferson, Jr.
God sent his Angel's on January 20, 2021, to bring home Thomas John Jefferson Jr. Thomas peacefully entered eternal rest at Tylers Retreat Nursing Home in Chester, Va. He was born on March 31, 1949 in Amelia, VA to the late Thomas John. Sr and Julia Jefferson. He was one of ten children. Thomas accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Promise Land Baptist Church in Amelia VA. Thomas enjoyed life, all his family and friends. He worked numerous jobs and also at Skinquarter Market for many years. It wasn't anyone who he didn't know or help. He will be remembered for his meek, loving, kind and humble spirit.
Thomas was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas John, Sr and Julia Jefferson, one brother, Richard Jefferson, one sister, Florence Jefferson Jenkins and one nephew, Donald Jefferson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory seven loving and devoted siblings: Edward Jefferson (Mary), Curtis Jefferson (Patricia), Samuel Jefferson, Central Jefferson (Shirley), Kenneth Jefferson, Sharon Henderson and Larry Jefferson (Sandra), loving and devoted nieces, Karen Hill (caretaker) and April Jones, one uncle Lawrence Owens, one aunt Dora Epps. A long-time friend, Joyce Bailey, a foster son, Ervin Bailey, four foster grandchildren: Lamonte Bailey, Deondre Bailey, Deonte Bailey and Zayla Bailey. A host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends (five faithful) George Beetle, Earl and Claude Brown, Marty Dunford and Roy Baldwin. Special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff, nurses and aides of Virginia Cancer Institute, Hospice of Virginia, Wellsprings at Amelia and Tyler's Retreat Nursing home.
