Obituary for Therman R. Oliver, Jr.
Our hearts and spirits were deeply saddened on Sunday, August 24, 2008 when MR. THERMAN RUDOLPH OLIVER, JR. was suddenly called home to be with the Lord.
Therman Rudolph Oliver, Jr., son of Bertie R. Oliver and the late Therman R. Oliver, Sr. was born April 11, 1983 in Richmond, VA.
On November 9, 2007, T.R. married his best friend, soul mate and apple of his eyes, Summer Hicks, to this union one son was born, Therman R. Oliver, III.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. “T.R.” (affectionately called by family and friends) attended and graduated from Nottoway Senior High School in June 2001.
T.R. loved cars, basketball and his dog “Gucci”. He had a special love bond and affection for his kids, wife and family. He also loved surrounding himself with his “homies”, Brian, Cedric, Jermaine, DaRon, Allen, Timothy, Karon and Darome; they were dear to his heart.
T.R. was preceded in death by his father, Therman R. Oliver, Sr., brother Terrance Robertson, sister Mildred Robertson, and uncles, Ronald and Mack Robertson.
He will be forever loved, cherished and remembered by his family and friends he leaves behind: a loving and supportive wife, Summer H. Oliver of Blackstone; sons, Therman R. Oliver, III of Blackstone, Treshawn and Trevon Oliver of Burkeville; stepson, Keon Coleman of Blackstone; loving mother, Bertie R. Oliver of Crewe; loving sisters, Shamia and Lauren Oliver of Crewe; loving and devoted brother, Theron Oliver of Crewe; aunt, Janice Robertson of Crewe; uncles, Samuel (Shirley) Robertson, Elston (Dale) Robertson, James (Arlene) Robertson, Mark (Ella) Robertson all of Crewe, Charles (Linda) Oliver of Maryland and Daniel (Emma); loving mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hicks, Sr., brother-in-law, Keith Hicks, Jr., sister-in-law, Spring (Vincente’) Neal, nephew, Quatum Hicks and niece, Lemaria’ Neal, all of Blackstone; godchildren, Azadzia Lewis, Tyrone Booker, Karon Price, Jr. and DeRon Moore, Jr. all of Crewe and a host of cousins and friends.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Crewe, VA with private burial.
