Obituary for Theodore R. Williams, Sr.
Theodore Roosevelt “Big Boo” Williams, Sr. was born January 28, 1938 in Nottoway County, VA to the late Johnny Williams and Corrine Davis. Theodore entered into eternal rest at his home on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Theodore received his education in the Nottoway County School System. He accepted Christ and attended Mount Gazerine Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board until his health failed. Theodore continued to be a faithful member despite his failing health.
He worked many years as a laborer, one particular place of employment being Velvet Textile of Blackstone, VA.
On January 29, 1961 he married Ruth Naomi Jackson, to this union five children were born.
Theodore loved helping his family, he was the prop everyone leaned on. There was nothing he wouldn’t do and promised that “Everything would be alright”. He loved the Bible and quoted Matthew 11:28 regularly.
Theodore leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Ruth Naomi Jackson Williams; two sons, Alonzo Quarles and Theodore Roosevelt Williams, Jr. (Saundra); three daughters, Daphne Williams, Pamela Hawkes and Charlene Bassfield; sixteen grandchildren, Alvin, Chimere, Tralve III, Mark, Toccara, Stewaun, Rikedia, Miranda, Corey, Joseline, Jacob, William, Rickie, Stephanie, Jarod and Lil John; ten great grandchildren, Arquan, Akeira, Jeremiah, Tralve IV, Jamarion, Jaron, Riniya, Makaila, Makiya and Devin; two brothers, Ernest Williams and Charles Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
