Thelma K. Price, daughter of the late Lester and Lottie Marlow was born December 14, 1930 in Nottoway County, VA. After a brief illness Thelma departed this life on January 10, 2017 at Memorial Regional Hospital.
Thelma grew up in Nottoway County where she attended and graduated from Luther H. Foster High School. At an early age she joined First Nottoway Baptist Church.
Thelma was a dedicated and loving mother and wife, always taking that extra time to spend and care for her devoted children and grandchildren. She possessed a contagious smile that would warm your heart.
Thelma was united in holy matrimony to Forest Edward King and James L. Price, both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Hayward Marlow.
Thelma leaves to cherish her memory: one brother Lester Marlow Jr. of (CT); two sisters-in-law, Blanche Marlow of (CT) and Earnestine Marlow of (VA); six daughters, Doris Stanley (Edward) of (NC), Ellen McBride (Winston) of (VA), Phyllis Hawkes (Ronald) of (VA), Frances Robinson of (VA), Vera Whitehead (Oscar) of (VA) and Rita Price of (VA); eleven grandchildren, Carl Hill Jr. of (NC), Latonia Hill of (NC), Ronald Hawkes Jr. of (CA), Wendy McBride of (Japan), Tiffany Robinson of (VA), Corey Hill of (VA), Tracey Hawkes of (GA), Kevin Frisby of (VA), Vincent Price of (VA), Denise Price of (VA) and Tierra Cole of (VA); thirteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
