Obituary for Thaddus L. Jennings, Jr.

Mr. Thaddus Lee Jennings, Jr., also known as “Lee”, 57, was called home on February 16, 2020. He was born to Thaddus and Thelma Berkley of Burkeville, Virginia on November 27, 1963.

Lee attended Central High School in Lunenburg, Virginia. He left school at an early age to start working. He loved working in the logging bushes with his close friend, Howard Pride. Lee was a “Jack of All Trades”, no matter what job needed to be done Lee was ready to help, even if he didn't know how to do it. He loved playing poker and loved his beer. He always made people laugh even when he lost the ability to talk. He was a good person inside and out. He will forever be missed.

Lee was called home to be with his mother, Thelma Berkley. He is now in her arms and she is holding on to him with a big smile!

Lee is survived by his father, Thaddus Berkley; son, Shantez DeAndrew Jennings; granddaughter, Alayah D. Gallant; brother, Fred Berkley; five sisters, Catherine Smith, Vanessa Street, Carolyn Berkley, Lashawn Anderson (Gerald) and Sharon Berkley (Demond Rux) that he treated like a daughter and held a special place in his heart for her. They always had each other’s back, she was the one that could keep him straight, he played a big part in raising Sharon and even bigger part on the reason she is spoiled. He also leaves behind a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
